New CTC testing centre in Songshanhu
France’s main agency for the economic development of the leather industry CTC group has signed an agreement with officials in Songshanhu Industrial Zone, China, which will allow it to set up a footwear quality testing centre in Dongguan City. The new centre will require an investment of approximately four million RMB yuan ($585,000).
CTC serves as a technical centre for the leather and shoe industry as well as offering inspection, audit and consultancy services meeting government, industry, regulatory and client-specified standards.
According to CTC, surveys it has carried out show that Dongguan City is the most practical place to establish the centre. The group has already established four testing centres in China; however, the centre based in Songshanhu Industrial Zone will be the largest in China, covering an area of 1500 square-metres.
Director at the Economic and Trade Development Bureau in Songshanhu, Deng Guo-jun, said the centre will be of great benefit to local exporters as they will now be able to acquire certification for their export products locally, saving them time and money.
