KFSB claims leather sector is struggling
According to a survey carried out by the Korean Federation of Small and Medium Business (KFSB), the production capacity rose for the first time in 11 months in February. Production was at 63.9% of total capacity in February, having steadily declined from 71.1% in March 2008.
However, the leathergoods and footwear sectors are the only segments that did not fit with this trend. Continuing to suffer the effects of the economic downturn, SMEs were producing at just 60.3% of their total capacity in February.
The survey included responses from more than 1,400 SMEs.
