Domestic demand gives Wenzhou a boost

Further positive news about growing demand for leather in China’s domestic market has emerged from the tanning sector in Wenzhou, in the southeastern province of Zhejiang.
Tanners in the city have said that, since the second half of last year, they have experienced a sharp decline in orders for upholstery leather from overseas markets. However, they have also registered an increase in domestic demand, which has gone some way towards making up for the downturn in orders from internationa customers.
