Italian firms hit Fimec

Italy´s export promotions agency (ICE) and the industry association for the country´s leather and footwear machinery manufacturers (Assomac) have worked together to help seven Italian companies attend Fimec 2009 in Novo Hamburgo.

The seven companies who made the journey to southern Brazil are industrial automation specialist Nexus, tanning machinery providers SC Meccaniche, Construzioni Meccaniche Persico, Equitan, STA and Vallero, and Santa Croce-based provider of chemicals for tanning and finishing leather Geokem.

Italian tanning machinery providers exported $19.8 million worth of equipment to Brazil in 2008.
