Fimec opens

The thirty-third edition of the Fimec international leather, chemicals, machinery and components exhibition opened in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil on March 24.
The total number of exhibitors at the start of the event was 1,146, which included 59 tanners, 244 footwear components companies and 81 suppliers to the tanning industry.
For the sixth year running, the Brazilian Association of Leather and Shoe Machinery Manufacturers (ABRAMEQ) brought potential buyers to the 2009 event.
This year, Abrameq's Buyer's Project involved 16 potential buyers, with eight from Colombia, three from Mexico, two from Ecuador and one each from Peru, Argentina and Guatemala.
