Specialist chemicals provider Zschimmer & Schwarz has moved to acquire the leather business of rival manufacturer Münzing.
The deal, under which the complete line of Münzing leather auxiliaries and customer relationships in the leather sector will transfer to Zschimmer & Schwarz, will take effect from March 31.
In a statement, Zschimmer & Schwarz said Münzing’s leather business would fit well into its existing structure and that the Münzing range would immediately become part of its Leather Auxiliaries Division. It said acquiring this part of the Münzing business was part of its growth strategy, and that the move would strengthen its position in the global leather market, especially in the shoe upper segment.
