GDS opens

The cycle of important finished goods exhibitions continued on March 13 with the opening of the GDS and Global Shoes events in Düsseldorf.
The organisers were expecting about 800 exhibitors from 29 countries to present around 1,870 footwear and leathergoods collections for the 2009-10 autumn-winter season.
Project director, Kirstin Deutelmoser, said: "It's always difficult to say what is going to be the most exciting thing at GDS, but I think our Upper Style show, for very exclusive shoes, will be really exciting this time."
