Smit & Zoon launches new fatliquor
11/03/2009
Wet-end specialist Smit & Zoon has launched a new fatliquor that combines the strengths of sulphited and sulphated natural oils in one product, SYNTHOL SF 838.
The fatliquor combines softness, tightness and a warm touch, three requirements for premium quality shoe upper and nappa. The company has suggested that combining SYNTHOL SF 838 with synthetic fatliquors will allow tanners "to make leathers even better and life easier".
Smit & Zoon suggests using between 30% and 50% of SYNTHOL SF 838 in the fatliquor combination. Higher percentages can be used if applied in a suitable application.
To obtain optimal results, it says SYNTHOL SF 838 is best used in combination with its SYNTHOL GS 606 (polymer softener) or SULPHIROL EG 60 (spermoil substitute).
SYNTHOL SF 838 can be used for white and lightfast articles.
