Hides and Skins: Net sales of 469,800 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were up 70 percent from the previous week and two percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (211,100 pieces), South Korea (89,200 pieces), Taiwan (58,900 pieces), Hong Kong (32,900 pieces) and Thailand (22,100 pieces). Exports of 568,200 pieces were up 12 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 561,700 pieces were primarily to China (285,000 pieces), South Korea (107,100 pieces), Taiwan (58,300 pieces), Mexico (34,100 pieces) and Hong Kong (25,900 pieces). 

Net sales of 54,900 wet blues were down 45 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior four-week average. Increases were for China (31,100 unsplit and 4,700 grain splits), Mexico (18,300 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit), Vietnam (3,400 unsplit) and Taiwan (3,200 unsplit). Exports of 108,000 hides were up three percent from the previous week and four percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were China (33,500 unsplit and 5,700 grain splits), Italy (31,900 unsplit), Mexico (10,300 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit) and Hong Kong (9,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 638,400 pounds resulted as increases for China (350,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (300,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Taiwan (11,600 pounds). Exports of 188,400 pounds were up 20 percent from the previous week, but down 45 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (100,000 pounds) and Taiwan (88,400 pounds).
