Hides and Skins: Net sales of 569,700 pieces were down 11 percent from the previous week. Whole cattle hide sales of 568,300 pieces were mainly for South Korea (228,600 pieces), China (224,200 pieces), Japan (34,100 pieces), Hong Kong (25,700 pieces) and Taiwan (21,600 pieces). Exports of 497,900 pieces were up one percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 467,300 pieces were primarily to China (257,300 pieces), South Korea (91,400 pieces), Japan (29,500 pieces), Hong Kong (26,900 pieces) and Taiwan (26,600 pieces). 

Net sales of 152,300 wet blues were double the previous week. Increases were for the Dominican Republic (68,800 unsplit), China (44,500 unsplit and 15,600 grain splits), Mexico (12,600 grain splits) and South Korea (7,700 unsplit and 4,500 grain splits). Exports of 145,500 hides were up 74 percent from the previous week and 88 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (54,000 unsplit), China (26,500 unsplit and 2,000 grain splits), Mexico (17,600 grain splits) and South Korea (9,000 grain splits and 6,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 50,000 pounds were for Hong Kong. Exports of 200,000 pounds were down 31 percent from the previous week, but up 46 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were Taiwan (100,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (100,000 pounds).
