Hides and Skins: Net sales of 642,100 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were down 18 percent from the previous week, but up 22 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary buyers were China (370,900 pieces), South Korea (97,500 pieces), Hong Kong (48,800 pieces), Japan (38,300 pieces) and Taiwan (34,300 pieces). Exports of 405,700 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were up four percent from the previous week, but down 13 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were China (177,900 pieces), South Korea (96,500 pieces), Taiwan (43,300 pieces), Japan (21,200 pieces) and Hong Kong (19,500 pieces). 

Net sales of 89,000 wet blues were down 74 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior four-week average. Increases were mainly for China (27,000 grain splits), Taiwan (20,900 unsplit), Hong Kong (15,000 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (12,800 unsplit) and Italy (6,600 unsplit). Exports of 76,600 hides were up one percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (21,600 unsplit), China (12,000 unsplit and 4,000 grain splits), Hong Kong (14,300 unsplit) and Taiwan (8,800 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 84,600 pounds were for China. Exports of 346,600 pounds were down 5 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (300,000 pounds) and China (46,600 pounds).
