Hides and Skins: Net sales of 195,700 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were down 53 percent from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide sales—a marketing-year low—were mainly for China (62,500 pieces), South Korea (48,800 pieces), Hong Kong (39,900 pieces), Japan (16,800 pieces) and Mexico (10,200 pieces).

Exports of 390,200 pieces were down 33 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 387,600 pieces were primarily to China (191,000 pieces), South Korea (94,600 pieces), Taiwan (29,300 pieces), Japan (25,300 pieces) and Hong Kong (19,600 pieces). 

Net sales of 79,800 wet blues were down 15 percent from the previous week, but up four percent from the prior four-week average. Increases were mainly for Hong Kong (38,800 unsplit), China (14,000 grain splits), Taiwan (8,100 unsplit), Mexico (7,000 grain splits) and the Dominican Republic (6,100 grain splits). Exports of 82,800 hides were down one percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Taiwan (20,300 unsplit), Italy (16,700 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (10,100 grain splits and 1,600 unsplit) and South Korea (7,000 unsplit).

Net sales of splits totalling 260,400 pounds resulted as increases for China (276,600 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Indonesia (12,900 pounds) and Hong Kong (3,300 pounds). Exports of 772,400 pounds were down 44 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were South Korea (405,000 pounds), Taiwan (100,000 pounds), Hong Kong (96,700 pounds), China (85,600 pounds) and Indonesia (85,100 pounds).
