The news from North America is similar to last week in that the trading being done is at mostly steady levels with cows and bulls trading a bit softer.
Sources are happy with the steer market, with many saying that they are able to buy and sell steers at acceptable prices and with some saying that the steers are making up the bulk of their business. The US financial situation is worsening and a tightening of lending could have an adverse effect on the US automotive industry. Not a lot of significant action has taken place this week with many sources saying they’re in a good enough sold/bought forward position to be able to wait until the market settles into a more favourable position.
