Hides and Skins: Net sales of 275,100 pieces were double the previous week, but 20 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 265,200 pieces were primary for China (138,200 pieces), Turkey (26,000 pieces), South Korea (25,500 pieces), Hong Kong (25,400 pieces), and Italy (22,400 pieces). Whole cattle hide sales of 206,800 pieces for delivery in 2008 were primarily for China (143,400 pieces), Taiwan (24,500 pieces), and Thailand (11,600 pieces). Exports of 461,900 pieces were up 18 per cent from the previous week, but down 4 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 444,900 pieces were primarily to China (230,400 pieces), South Korea (97,000 pieces), Hong Kong (29,800 pieces), Italy (22,400 pieces), and Taiwan (22,200 pieces). 

Net sales of 900 wet blues were down 94 per cent from the previous week and 99 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily for South Korea (1,800 unsplit), Taiwan (1,000 unsplit), Thailand (700 unsplit), and Mexico (300 grain splits). Net sales of 144,600 wet blues for delivery in 2008 were primarily for China (54,000 unsplit), Taiwan (23,200 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (9,400 grain splits and 8,000 unsplit), and Vietnam (15,900 unsplit).  Exports of 123,300 wet blues were down 6 per cent from the previous week and 10 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (21,300 unsplit and 5,400 grain splits), China (23,100 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (12,500 grain splits and 4,000 unsplit), South Korea (11,400 unsplit), and Taiwan (11,100 unsplit). 

Net sales reductions of splits totalling 867,900 pounds resulted as increases for Indonesia (46,300 pounds) were more than offset by decreases for Hong Kong (704,300 pounds), Taiwan (200,000 pounds), China (6,100 pounds), and South Korea (3,800 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 715,100 pounds were down 16 per cent from the previous week and 10 per cent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (301,900 pounds), Hong Kong (145,700 pounds), Italy (135,000 pounds), South Korea (86,200 pounds), and Indonesia (46,300 pounds).
