Hides and Skins: Net sales of 435,000 pieces were up 25 per cent from the previous week and 1 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 428,800 pieces were primarily for China (187,500 pieces) and South Korea (155,600 pieces). Whole cattle hide sales of 40,200 pieces for delivery in 2008 were primarily for South Korea (18,200 pieces), Taiwan (7,600 pieces), and Hong Kong (5,800 pieces). Exports of 423,800 pieces were down 14 per cent from the previous week and 15 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 421,000 pieces were primarily to China (183,500 pieces), South Korea (95,700 pieces), Mexico (33,200 pieces), Taiwan (31,300 pieces), and Japan (20,700 pieces). 

Net sales of 169,400 wet blues were up 73 per cent from the previous week and 39 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were mainly for Hong Kong (59,400 unsplit), China (45,200 unsplit), Vietnam (24,500 unsplit), and Mexico (15,300 grain splits). 

Net sales of splits totalling 44,200 pieces for delivery in 2008 were primarily for Hong Kong (18,000 unsplit), China (13,600 unsplit), and Thailand (7,200 unsplit). Exports of 158,700 hides were up 9 per cent from the previous week and 13 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (65,000 unsplit), China (28,800 unsplit), Mexico (12,300 grain splits and 3,800 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (13,600 grain splits and 2,400 unsplit), and Hong Kong (11,600 unsplit). 

Net sales of splits totalling 429,900 pounds were primarily for Hong Kong (203,600 pounds) and South Korea (135,000 pounds). Net sales decreases for Hong Kong (200,000 pounds) for delivery in 2008 were switched to 2007.  Exports of splits totalling 1,054,900 pounds were up 19 per cent from the previous week and 25 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (708,600 pounds), South Korea (217,000 pounds), and China (129,400 pounds).
