Hides and Skins: Net sales of 369,900 pieces were down 15 per cent from the previous week and 34 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 364,500 pieces were primarily for China (140,600 pieces), South Korea (114,400 pieces), Mexico (44,700 pieces), and Japan (30,800 pieces). Whole cattle hide sales of 77,200 for delivery in 2008 were for South Korea (40,600 pieces) and China (36,600 pieces). Exports of 482,900 pieces were down 1 per cent from the previous week and 4 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 479,000 pieces were primarily to China (197,200 pieces), South Korea (116,000 pieces), Taiwan (38,600 pieces), Mexico (35,500 pieces), and Vietnam (25,700 pieces). 

Net sales of 171,100 wet blues were up 31 per cent from the previous week, but down 26 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were mainly for Italy (39,100 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (17,600 grain splits and 6,400 unsplit), Mexico (20,600 grain splits), and Taiwan (18,300 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits).  Net sales of 7,300 wet blues for delivery in 2008 were for Hong Kong (5,000 grain splits), El Salvador (1,300 grain splits), and India (1,000 unsplit). Exports of 154,600 hides were up 15 per cent from the previous week and 19 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (34,200 unsplit and 2,500 grain splits), Italy (34,800 unsplit), Mexico (24,300 grain splits and 2,700 unsplit), and Hong Kong (17,200 unsplit). 
Net sales of splits totalling 85,100 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (92,900 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (4,700 pounds) and China (3,100 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 537,100 pounds were down 40 per cent from the previous week and 33 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were South Korea (175,400 pounds), Hong Kong (142,900 pounds), and China (128,900 pounds).
