Hides and Skins: Net sales of 570,800 pieces were down 49 per cent from the week earlier and 28 per cent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 569,300 pieces were primarily to China (262,800 pieces), South Korea (140,700 pieces), Mexico (39,800 pieces), Japan (39,300 pieces), and Hong Kong (27,900 pieces). Exports of 408,000 pieces were down 28 per cent from the week earlier and 22 per cent from the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 402,500 pieces were primarily to China (204,100 pieces), South Korea (59,300 pieces), Thailand (29,300 pieces), Mexico (29,200 pieces), Japan (27,600 pieces), and Taiwan (24,900 pieces).

Net sales of 66,100 wet blues were down 42 per cent from the previous week and 63 per cent from the prior four-week average. Increases were reported for the Dominican Republic (15,800 grain splits and 8,600 unsplit), Mexico (19,400 grain splits and 2,000 unsplit), China (11,900 unsplit), and Hong Kong (6,800 grain splits). Exports of 174,100 hides were up 37 per cent from the previous week and 53 per cent from the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (59,300 unsplit), China (32,000 unsplit), Mexico (18,300 grain splits and 3,000 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (14,400 grain splits and 3,400 unsplit), and Hong Kong (14,000 unsplit).

Net sales reductions of splits totalling 40,500 pounds resulted as increases for Mexico (1,000 pounds), but were more than offset by decreases for Hong Kong (15,600 pounds), China (12,800 pounds), Italy (10,600 pounds), and South Korea (2,600 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 1,792,500 pounds were nearly three times the previous week and two and one-fifth times the prior four-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (912,400 pounds), Italy (473,400 pounds), China (319,200 pounds), and South Korea (87,400 pounds).
