Hides and Skins: Net sales of 760,700 pieces were down 3 per cent from the week earlier, but up 31 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 735,000 pieces were primarily for China (371,900 pieces), South Korea (102,300 pieces), Taiwan (69,700 pieces), Vietnam (62,100 pieces) and Hong Kong (40,100 pieces).

Exports of 494,800 pieces were down 5 per cent from the week earlier and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 490,800 pieces were primary to China (288,200 pieces), South Korea (77,400 pieces), Taiwan (33,800 pieces), Mexico (27,200 pieces), Hong Kong (24,300 pieces) and Japan (17,700 pieces).

Net sales of 339,700 wet blues were 93 per cent above the previous week and nearly two and three-quarters times the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Italy (245,700 unsplit), Thailand (20,200 unsplit and 5,000 grain splits), China (24,900 unsplit) and Mexico (19,200 grain splits and 3,000 unsplit). Exports of 131,100 hides were up 20 per cent from the previous week and 18 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (42,700 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits), Mexico (21,200 grain splits and 4,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (15,900 unsplit), South Korea (9,100 unsplit and 3,500 grain splits) and the Dominican Republic (9,600 grain splits).

Net sales of splits totalling 463,900 pounds resulted as increases for South Korea (267,500 pounds) and Hong Kong (213,400 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Indonesia (8,900 pounds) and China (8,100 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 1,746,900 pounds were nearly five and two-thirds times the previous week and 87 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (666,400 pounds), China (531,900 pounds) and South Korea (357,500 pounds).
