US export sales for week ending 28/06/2007
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 464,100 pieces were down 19 per cent from the week earlier and 5 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 462,700 pieces were primarily to China (178,200 pieces), South Korea (87,800 pieces), Vietnam (44,200 pieces), Taiwan (43,100 pieces) and Mexico (32,600 pieces). Exports of 628,200 pieces were 53 per cent above the week earlier and 28 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 621,100 pieces were primarily to China (335,800 pieces), South Korea (102,200 pieces), Taiwan (58,700 pieces), Mexico (39,900 pieces) and Japan (27,800 pieces).
Net sales of 106,400 wet blues were down 14 per cent from the previous week and 24 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (47,000 unsplit), Mexico (19,600 grain splits and 2,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (19,800 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (9,400 grain splits and 3,400 unsplit). Exports of 115,500 hides were down 11 per cent from the previous week and 14 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (29,100 unsplit), Italy (20,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (17,800 unsplit), Mexico (14,800 grain splits and 3,000 unsplit) and Thailand (9,400 unsplit and 500 grain splits). Net sales of splits totalling 2,613,100 pounds were primarily to Hong Kong (1,255,100 pounds) and Italy (969,000 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 1,764,100 pounds were 64 per cent above the previous week and 66 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (1,195,100 pounds), China (431,500 pounds) and South Korea (87,400 pounds).
