US export sales for week ending 14/06/2007
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 454,900 pieces were down 6 per cent from the week earlier and 9 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 442,400 pieces were primarily to China (208,500 pieces), South Korea (138,000 pieces), Taiwan (23,800 pieces), Italy (23,300 pieces) and Mexico (19,800 pieces).
Exports of 455,400 pieces were 11 per cent below the week earlier and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 443,500 pieces were primarily to China (204,100 pieces), South Korea (71,800 pieces), Taiwan (42,000 pieces) and Italy (37,900 pieces).
Net sales of 150,000 wet blues were down 1 per cent from the previous week, but up 23 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (50,600 unsplit and 5,400 grain splits), Mexico (27,900 grain splits and 17,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (26,300 unsplit) and Italy (14,000 unsplit). Exports of 136,300 hides were down 5 per cent from the previous week and 6 per cent from the prior 4-week average.
The primary destinations were Italy (36,100 unsplit), China (25,900 unsplit), Mexico (18,800 grain splits and 4,800 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (12,400 grain splits and 5,300 unsplit) and Hong Kong (12,300 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits). Net sales of splits totalling 170,300 pounds resulted as increases for China (276,000 pounds), Italy (88,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (38,300 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (189,100 pounds) and Mexico (43,000 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 712,300 pounds were down 52 per cent from the previous week and 42 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (320,300 pounds), South Korea (215,900 pounds) and China (176,000 pounds).
