US export sales for week ending 10/05/2007
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 882,200 pieces were up 95 per cent from the week earlier and 60 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 686,600 pieces were primarily to China (393,500 pieces, including 174,700 pieces late reporting), Taiwan (100,000 pieces), Hong Kong (65,100 pieces), South Korea (50,200 pieces) and Thailand (33,500 pieces). Exports of 986,500 pieces were up nearly two and one-quarter times the previous week and 85 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 787,700 pieces were primarily to China (384,400 pieces including 174,700 pieces late reporting), South Korea (154,000 pieces), Taiwan (98,000 pieces) and Hong Kong (69,700 pieces).
Net sales of 112,000 wet blues were up 55 per cent from the previous week, but down 28 per cent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (33,000 unsplit), Mexico (20,200 grain splits and 12,700 unsplit), Taiwan (8,900 unsplit and 7,000 grain splits), Hong Kong (11,000 unsplit) and Italy (10,500 unsplit). Exports of 131,400 hides were down 5 per cent from the previous week and 10 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (48,400 unsplit and 2,900 grain splits), Mexico (16,500 grain splits and 4,400 unsplit), Italy (19,200 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (10,000 grain splits and 1,600 unsplit) and Hong Kong (10,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 216,600 pounds were for Italy (132,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (84,600 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 1,063,700 pounds were down 5 per cent from the previous week and 18 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (588,700 pounds) and South Korea (475,000 pounds).
