US export sales for week ending 26/04/2007
Hides and Skins: et sales of 920,200 pieces were more than two and two-fifths times the week earlier and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 914,700 pieces—a marketing-year high—were primarily to China (586,900 pieces), South Korea (90,900 pieces), Taiwan (76,600 pieces), Vietnam (55,900 pieces) and Thailand (34,000 pieces). Exports of 601,200 pieces were up 15 per cent from the previous week and 21 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 594,400 pieces—a marketing-year high—were primarily to China (265,600 pieces), South Korea (154,300 pieces), Taiwan (52,900 pieces) and Vietnam (36,400 pieces).
Net sales of 343,300 wet blues were more than two and one-tenth times the previous week and three and one-fourth times the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Italy (176,400 unsplit), Hong Kong (73,700 unsplit), China (47,400 unsplit) and Mexico (25,700 grain splits). Exports of 136,500 hides were down 6 per cent from the previous week and 5 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (44,500 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits), Mexico (28,100 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit), Italy (22,500 unsplit and 1,400 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (9,400 grain splits and 1,600 unsplit) and South Korea (5,800 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits). Net sales of splits totalling 3,482,100 pounds were for Hong Kong (1,364,800 pounds), Italy (1,055,800 pounds), China (564,100 pounds) and South Korea (497,300 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 1,550,000 pounds were down 17 per cent from the previous week, but 8 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (668,700 pounds), South Korea (442,300 pounds), Italy (220,800 pounds) and China (218,100 pounds).
