The number of cattle slaughtered in December 2006 was 15.4% lower than in
December 2005. See Table.
A comparison of December 2006 and 2005 figures shows that:
- Sheep slaughterings decreased by 11.7%.
- Pig slaughterings decreased by 4.5%.

The number of cattle slaughterings in 2006 was 5.2% higher than in 2005. Over the same period there was a decrease of 3.6% in sheep slaughterings and an increase of 0.4% in pig slaughterings.
