US export sales for week ending 29/03/2007
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 275,900 pieces were down 32 per cent from the week earlier and 30 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 273,400 pieces were primarily to China (105,400 pieces), South Korea (52,300 pieces), Vietnam (26,600 pieces), Mexico (22,900 pieces) and Taiwan (20,400 pieces).
Exports of 507,900 pieces were down 13 per cent from the previous week and slightly below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 498,900 pieces were primarily to China (209,100 pieces), South Korea (138,200 pieces), Taiwan (59,600 pieces) and Mexico (27,100 pieces).
Net sales of 90,000 wet blues were down 42 per cent from the previous week and 24 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Mexico (22,700 grain splits), South Korea (20,000 unsplit), China (12,600 grain splits and 4,600 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (10,000 grain splits). Exports of 145,800 hides were up 18 per cent from the previous week and slightly above the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (28,800 unsplit), Mexico (24,100 grain splits), Hong Kong (22,800 unsplit and 1,600 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (16,500 grain splits and 4,200 unsplit) and China (17,200 unsplit and 1,900 grain splits).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,726,900 pounds were primarily for China (625,100 pounds), South Korea (404,200 pounds), Hong Kong (297,800 pounds) and Italy (258,400 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 1,551,400 pounds were up 85 per cent from the week earlier and 48 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Italy (567,400 pounds), China (376,100 pounds), Hong Kong (347,800 pounds) and South Korea (223,200 pounds).
