US export sales for week ending 08/02/2007
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 198,900 pieces were 59 per cent below the previous week and 57 per cent under the prior four-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 197,000 pieces were primarily to China (90,700 pieces), Mexico (32,800 pieces), South Korea (25,300 pieces) and Japan (20,500 pieces). Exports of 373,600 pieces were 19 per cent below the previous week and 8 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 362,500 pieces were primarily to China (187,500 pieces), South Korea (74,000 pieces), Taiwan (40,400 pieces) and Thailand (20,600 pieces).
Net sales of 152,300 wet blues were down 14 per cent from the previous week and 26 per cent under the prior four-week average. Increases were reported for China (53,600 unsplit and 7,400 grain splits), Mexico (25,100 grain splits), Indonesia (20,800 unsplit), Thailand (18,600 unsplit and 200 grain splits) and the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain splits). Exports of 127,600 hides were 7 per cent below the previous week and 6 per cent under the prior four-week average. The primary destinations were China (32,800 unsplit and 3,400 grain splits), Italy (25,500 unsplit and 2,000 grain splits), Mexico (19,200 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (13,200 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (10,000 grain splits). Net sales of splits totalling 389,300 pounds were for Italy (393,400 pounds), but were partially offset by decreases for Indonesia (2,600 pounds) and Hong Kong (1,600 pounds). Exports of splits totalling 455,900 pounds were 64 per cent below the previous week and 42 per cent under the prior four-week average. The destinations were Italy (265,400 pounds), Indonesia (95,400 pounds), Hong Kong (50,000 pounds) and South Korea (45,000 pounds).
