Hides and Skins: Net sales of 156,800 pieces were 40 per cent below the previous week and 52 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 151,100 pieces were mainly for Taiwan (49,400 pieces), China (48,100 pieces), South Korea (17,300 pieces), Thailand (14,600 pieces) and Mexico (11,600 pieces). Whole cattle hide sales of 219,000 pieces for delivery in 2007 were mainly for China (84,100 pieces), South Korea (77,300 pieces) and Taiwan (23,300 pieces). Exports of 370,700 pieces were 8 per cent below the previous week and 3 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 357,500 pieces were primarily for China (194,200 pieces), South Korea (65,200 pieces), Taiwan (35,000 pieces) and Hong Kong (17,200 pieces). 

Net sales of 18,500 wet blues were 66 per cent below the week earlier and 79 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (9,100 unsplit), Italy (5,400 unsplit), Taiwan (5,300 grain splits), Mexico (4,700 grain splits) and Hong Kong (1,200 grain splits). Net sales of 57,700 wet blues for delivery in 2007 were mainly for China (36,000 unsplit and 3,300 grain splits), Thailand (6,300 grain splits), Hong Kong (4,600 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (4,200 grain splits). Exports of 119,300 hides were 27 per cent below the previous week and 13 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (43,600 unsplit and 4,400 grain splits), Italy (25,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (13,000 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits) and Mexico (7,300 grain splits and 800 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 199,900 pounds were mostly for Hong Kong (228,500 pounds), but were partially offset by decreases for Mexico (19,300 pounds) and Indonesia (6,700 pounds). Sales of splits for delivery in 2007 of 225,000 pounds were for South Korea (135,000 pounds) and China (90,000 pounds). Exports of 1,252,900 pounds were twice the level from the week earlier and the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (560,500 pounds), Italy (354,400 pounds) and Mexico (244,700 pounds).
