US export sales for week ending 07/12/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 323,400 pieces were 3 per cent below the previous week and 25 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 321,100 pieces were mainly for China (198,900 pieces), South Korea (44,800 pieces), Mexico (18,000 pieces), Thailand (17,200 pieces) and Japan (13,400 pieces). Whole cattle hide sales of 226,000 pieces for delivery in 2007 were mainly for China (159,800 pieces) and Taiwan (41,200 pieces). Exports of 428,700 pieces were 19 per cent above the previous week and 4 per cent higher than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 421,300 pieces were primarily for China (220,300 pieces), South Korea (80,600 pieces), Taiwan (29,100 pieces) and Hong Kong (25,100 pieces).
Net sales of 34,700 wet blues were 71 per cent below the week earlier and 69 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (44,700 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (8,000 grain splits and 7,700 unsplit), Mexico (5,300 grain splits) and South Korea (1,600 grain splits). Net Sales of wet blues sales for delivery in 2007 of 29,700 were mainly for Taiwan (14,600 grain splits and 3,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (17,000 unsplit) and Thailand (5,400 grain splits and 2,100 unsplit). Exports of 117,300 hides were 4 per cent below the previous week and nearly equal to the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (39,300 unsplit), Italy (32,400 unsplit), Hong Kong (10,600 unsplit), Taiwan (4,800 unsplit and 3,700 grain splits) and Indonesia (7,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 657,500 pounds resulted as increases for South Korea 675,000 pounds were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong 9,800 pounds and China of 7,400 pounds. Exports of 615,200 pounds were 46 per cent above the week earlier and nearly unchanged from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (256,600 pounds) and Hong Kong (228,200 pounds).
