Hides and Skins: Net sales of 333,100 pieces were 12 per cent below the previous week and 37 per cent lower than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 326,300 pieces were mainly for China (125,700 pieces), Mexico (53,600 pieces), Taiwan (48,100 pieces) and South Korea (40,400 pieces). Whole cattle hide sales of 93,100 pieces for delivery in 2007 were mainly for China (82,200 pieces). Exports of 360,000 pieces were 6 per cent above the previous week, but 17 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 356,200 pieces were primarily for China (148,800 pieces), South Korea (76,000 pieces), Mexico (34,800 pieces) and Taiwan (31,600 pieces).

Net sales of 120,500 wet blues were 14 per cent below the week earlier, but 26 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (40,800 unsplit and 4,000 grain splits), China (15,600 unsplit and 9,000 grain splits), Italy (10,800 grain splits and 7,600 unsplit), Mexico (11,300 grain splits), Indonesia (10,000 unsplit) and Taiwan (7,200 grain splits). Exports of 121,800 hides were 15 per cent below the previous week and 4 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (34,000 unsplit), China (30,800 unsplit), Hong Kong (20,500 unsplit), Mexico (7,300 grain splits and 4,000 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (4,400 grain splits and 2,800 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 640,800 pounds were 25 per cent above the previous week, but 34 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Sales of splits were for Hong Kong (228,800 pounds), South Korea (180,000 pounds), China (132,000 pounds) and Taiwan (100,000 pounds). Exports of 422,300 pounds were 47 per cent below the week earlier and 48 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (378,800 pounds) and Italy (43,500 pounds).
