US export sales for week ending 09/11/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 297,500 pieces were 59 per cent below the previous week and 42 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 293,800 pieces were mainly for China (130,600 pieces), South Korea (73,700 pieces), and Taiwan (28,400 pieces). Exports of 459,500 pieces were 5 per cent above the previous week, but 6 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 454,100 pieces were primarily for China (236,600 pieces), South Korea (76,800 pieces), Mexico (35,100 pieces) and Taiwan (30,100 pieces).
Net sales of 93,100 wet blues were 60 per cent above the week earlier, but 24 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (29,700 unsplit), Mexico (23,100 grain split and 800 unsplit), China (19,800 unsplit and 100 grain split) and Indonesia (18,000 unsplit). Net sales of 56,600 wet blues for delivery in 2007 were mainly for China (20,400 unsplit), Hong Kong (12,800 unsplit and 3,600 grain split) and the Dominican Republic (9,400 unsplit and 4,500 grain split). Exports of 127,400 hides were 18 per cent below the previous week and 15 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (27,900 unsplit and 8,700 grain split), Italy (19,100 unsplit and 1,600 grain split), Hong Kong (15,200 unsplit and 1,500 grain split), South Korea (15,500 unsplit), Mexico (9,800 grain split and 3,000 unsplit) and Indonesia (9,400 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 1,083,800 pounds improved from the previous week and were 61 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Increases for Italy (792,000 pounds) and China (349,200 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (44,000 pounds). Exports of 774,300 pounds were 35 per cent below the week earlier and 44 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The major destinations were Hong Kong (626,600 pounds), South Korea (99,000 pounds) and China (47,200 pounds).
