US export sales for week ending 02/11/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 720,600 pieces were 45 per cent above the previous week and double the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 714,700 pieces were mainly for China (291,700 pieces), South Korea (277,900 pieces) and Taiwan (47,400 pieces). Exports of 438,200 pieces were 11 per cent below the previous week and 13 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 426,900 pieces were primarily for China (184,500 pieces), South Korea (80,900 pieces), Taiwan (46,200 pieces) and Mexico (37,800 pieces).
Net sales of 58,200 wet blues were 77 per cent below the week earlier and 56 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (34,500 unsplit and 500 grain split), Hong Kong (11,600 unsplit) and Taiwan (4,800 unsplit). Exports of 156,000 hides were 32 per cent above the previous week and 9 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (47,500 unsplit and 15,300 grain split), Italy (37,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (18,000 unsplit), South Korea (8,400 unsplit and 1,700 grain split), Mexico (4,900 grain split and 4,800 unsplit) and Taiwan (8,500 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 164,900 pounds were 65 per cent below the previous week and 84 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Increases for Hong Kong (187,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for China (19,400 pounds). Exports of 1,185,400 pounds were 6 per cent below the week earlier and 17 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The major destinations were China (500,600 pounds), Hong Kong (407,000 pounds) and South Korea (100,000 pounds).
