US export sales for week ending 12/10/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 297,800 pieces were two and nine-tenths times the previous week, but 23 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 291,500 pieces were mainly for China (143,500 pieces), Taiwan (40,100 pieces), South Korea (36,900 pieces) and Mexico (28,200 pieces). Exports of 485,500 pieces were 5 per cent below the previous week and prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 471,600 pieces were mainly for China (217,300 pieces), South Korea (87,200 pieces), Mexico (46,000 pieces) and Japan (27,900 pieces).
Net sales of 42,100 wet blues were 58 per cent below the week earlier and prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (18,700 unsplit), Italy (18,000 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (16,100 grain split). Reductions were reported for the Dominican Republic (17,600 unsplit) and Indonesia (14,400 grain split). Exports of 116,800 hides were 13 per cent below the previous week and 10 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (33,300 unsplit and 2,800 grain split), Italy (23,200 unsplit), China (19,300 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (8,800 grain split). Net sales of splits totalling 1,611,300 pounds were 3 per cent below the week earlier, but 60 per cent above the prior week 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (1,524,700 pounds) and Mexico (104,300 pounds). Exports of 1,890,100 pounds were 44 per cent above the week earlier and 64 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (828,100 pounds), Hong Kong (628,700 pounds), Indonesia (142,100 pounds) and South Korea (135,000 pounds).
