US export sales for week ending 28/09/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 328,600 pieces were 51 per cent below the previous week and 36 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 322,000 pieces were mainly for China (120,500 pieces), South Korea (55,600 pieces), Mexico (35,300 pieces) and Japan (31,800 pieces). Exports of 563,300 pieces were 11 per cent above the previous week and 21 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 551,100 pieces were mainly for China (222,900 pieces), South Korea (112,100 pieces), Taiwan (61,600 pieces) and Japan (51,300 pieces).
Net sales of 103,200 wet blues were 20 per cent above the week earlier, but 1 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (42,900 unsplit), China (15,700 unsplit), Italy (7,200 grain split and 5,800 unsplit), South Korea (12,600 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (11,000 grain split). Exports of 134,600 hides were 34 per cent above the previous week and 14 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (50,700 unsplit), Hong Kong (32,400 unsplit and 2,100 grain split) and the Dominican Republic (13,400 grain split). Net sales of splits totalling 289,300 pounds were 86 per cent below the previous week and 81 per cent under the prior week 4-week average. Increases for China (394,100 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (102,400 pounds). Exports of 771,300 pounds were 23 per cent below the week earlier and 39 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (323,600 pounds) and Italy (177,600 pounds).
