US export sales for week ending 21/09/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 672,800 pieces were 54 per cent above the previous week and 58 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 652,200 pieces were mainly for China (342,100 pieces), South Korea (96,700 pieces), Taiwan (50,800 pieces) and Hong Kong (46,300 pieces). Exports of 508,300 pieces were 12 per cent above the previous week and 5 per cent higher than the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports 504,100 pieces were mainly for China (205,600 pieces), South Korea (99,400 pieces) and Taiwan (59,200 pieces).
Net sales of 86,400 wet blues were 21 per cent under the week earlier and 28 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (35,400 unsplit), China (18,800 unsplit) and Hong Kong (18,100 unsplit). Exports of 100,700 hides were 32 per cent lower than the previous week and down 18 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (34,100 unsplit), Hong Kong (28,700 unsplit and 2,900 grain split) and China (14,600 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 2,082,500 pounds were much above the prior week and double the previous 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (1,032,500 pounds), Mexico (748,000 pounds) and South Korea (315,000 pounds). Exports of 1,005,500 pounds were 34 per cent below the week earlier and 25 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (514,500 pounds), Italy (348,800 pounds) and Indonesia (142,200 pounds).
