US export sales for week ending 14/09/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 437,300 pieces were 2 per cent below the previous week, but 1 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 431,800 pieces were mainly for China (153,300 pieces), South Korea (101,900 pieces) and Taiwan (47,300 pieces). Exports of 452,500 pieces were 10 per cent above the previous week, but 6 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports 439,800 pieces were mainly for China (174,100 pieces), South Korea (111,800 pieces) and Taiwan (43,800 pieces).
Net sales of 109,600 wet blues were 15 per cent under the week earlier and 7 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (26,100 unsplit and 1,900 grain split), Mexico (12,200 grain split and 10,800 unsplit), Indonesia (18,000 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (17,900 grain split) and Taiwan (11,900 unsplit). Exports of 147,700 hides were 59 per cent higher than the previous week and up 38 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (33,600 unsplit and 5,000 grain split), Italy (30,900 unsplit), Mexico (12,400 unsplit and 11,300 grain split), China (21,900 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (13,400 grain split and 1,500 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 1,800 pounds were much below the prior week and the previous 4-week average. Increases for Hong Kong (10,100 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Italy (5,900 pounds) and Mexico (2,300 pounds). Exports of 1,520,300 pounds were 37 per cent above the week earlier and 19 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (1,132,600 pounds), Italy (303,100 pounds), Indonesia (43,000 pounds) and Mexico (41,700 pounds).
