US export sales for week ending 07/09/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 446,600 pieces were 12 per cent below the previous week, but 1 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 439,300 pieces were mainly for China (262,000 pieces), South Korea (64,300 pieces), Taiwan (32,800 pieces) and the Dominican Republic (24,000 pieces). Exports of 412,200 pieces were 16 per cent below the previous week and 18 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports 402,300 pieces were mainly for China (192,000 pieces) and South Korea (107,000 pieces).
Net sales of 128,800 wet blues were 39 per cent over the week earlier and 26 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Taiwan (23,900 unsplit and 11,400 grain split), Hong Kong (19,500 unsplit and 14,200 grain split), the Dominican Republic (19,200 unsplit and 12,000 grain split) and Mexico (10,500 unsplit). Exports of 93,000 hides were 30 per cent below the previous week and down 17 per cent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (25,500 unsplit), Hong Kong (22,500 unsplit) and the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain split and 1,600 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 3,062,300 pounds were much improved from the prior week and the previous 4-week average. The buyers were Hong Kong (1,219,000 pounds), Italy (1,047,300 pounds) and China (796,000 pounds). Exports of 1,110,300 pounds were 22 per cent below the week earlier and 9 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Italy (653,300 pounds) and Hong Kong (457,000 pounds).
