US export sales for week ending 13/07/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 294,600 pieces were 38 per cent below the previous week and 27 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 274,800 pieces were mainly for China (132,300 pieces), South Korea (42,300 pieces), and Mexico (31,800 pieces). Exports of 392,400 pieces were 15 per cent under the previous week and 24 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 386,900 pieces were mainly for China (191,200 pieces), South Korea (57,400 pieces), Japan (47,400 pieces), and Taiwan (35,500 pieces).
Net sales of 99,100 wet blues were up 50 per cent from the week earlier, but 55 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were South Korea (44,400 unsplit), Hong Kong (14,400 unsplit and 10,800 grain split), Indonesia (14,400 grain split and 9,900 unsplit), and Taiwan (16,300 unsplit). Exports of 91,500 hides were 11 per cent below the previous week and 17 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (27,900 unsplit), China (15,100 unsplit), Thailand (7,500 grain split and 5,000 unsplit), and Taiwan (11,200 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 632,600 pounds were mainly for Italy (351,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (291,900 pounds). Decreases were reported for China (9,500 pounds).Exports of 791,200 pounds improved from the prior week’s marketing-year low, but were 4 per cent below the previous 4-week average. The destinations were China (650,500 pounds), Hong Kong (96,900 pounds), and Indonesia (43,800 pounds).
