US export sales for week ending 22/06/06
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 416,600 pieces were equal to the previous week, but 7 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 411,900 pieces were mainly for China (188,000 pieces) and South Korea (111,800 pieces). Exports of 583,100 pieces were 1 per cent above the previous week and 19 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 571,100 pieces-a marketing-year high-were primarily for China (274,700 pieces), South Korea (89,800 pieces), Japan (53,700 pieces), Taiwan (52,200 pieces), and Mexico (36,700 pieces).
Net sales of 65,500 wet blues were 91 per cent below the week earlier and 74 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (22,700 unsplit), Indonesia (8,000 unsplit and 5,000 grain split), South Korea (7,000 unsplit), and Mexico (6,300 grain split). Exports of 105,000 hides were 19 per cent below the previous week and 4 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (28,800 unsplit and 4,700 grain split), Italy (16,800 unsplit), China (16,700 unsplit), and Mexico (6,900 grain split and 4,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 1,413,700 pounds were mainly for Hong Kong (1,322,100 pounds). Exports of 982,400 pounds were 10 per cent below the week earlier, but 19 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (666,100 pounds) and Italy (135,000 pounds).
