US export sales for week ending 15/06/06
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 415,100 pieces were down 16 per cent from the previous week and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 412,400 pieces were mainly for China (282,700 pieces), South Korea (57,200 pieces), and Japan (36,800 pieces). Exports of 577,100 pieces were 17 per cent above the previous week and 25 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 561,700 pieces-a marketing-year high-were primarily for China (298,300 pieces), South Korea (68,600 pieces), Mexico (48,900 pieces), Taiwan (48,100 pieces), and Japan (35,200 pieces).
Net sales of 695,300 wet blues improved from the prior week. The primary buyers were Italy (544,000 unsplit), China (72,200 unsplit), and Hong Kong (40,300 unsplit). Exports of 128,900 hides were 62 per cent above the previous week and 27 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (32,300 unsplit and 3,100 grain split), China (20,300 unsplit and 6,200 grain split), Italy (20,800 unsplit), and South Korea (12,800 unsplit). Net sales of splits totalling 571,800 pounds were mainly for Italy (396,000 pounds). Exports of 1,096,800 pounds were 47 per cent above the week earlier and 38 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (661,200 pounds), China (300,600 pounds), and Italy (135,000 pounds).
