US export sales for week ending 08/06/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 493,300 pieces were up 20 per cent from the previous week, but 4 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 489,200 pieces were mainly for China (320,300 pieces), South Korea (41,100 pieces), and Taiwan (37,800 pieces). Exports of 493,500 pieces were 36 percent above the previous week and 3 percent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 488,000 pieces were primarily for China (228,100 pieces), South Korea (101,700 pieces), Taiwan (44,700 pieces), and Mexico (33,100 pieces).
Net sales of 78,400 wet blues were 45 per cent above the prior week. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (36,900 unsplit and 4,700 grain split), South Korea (9,600 unsplit), and Mexico (5,500 unsplit and 4,400 grain unsplit). Exports of 79,600 hides were 29 per cent below the previous week and 28 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (15,200 unsplit), South Korea (13,500 unsplit), China (12,600 unsplit), and Mexico (4,900 unsplit and 4,400 grain split).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,335,700 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (1,336,700 pounds) and the Dominican Republic (88,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Italy (88,000 pounds). Exports of 744,700 pounds were 4 per cent above the week earlier, but 12 percent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (524,700 pounds) and China (132,000 pounds).
