US export sales for week ending 25/05/06
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 466,900 pieces were down 21 per cent from the previous week and 20 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 465,700 pieces were mainly for China (217,700 pieces) and South Korea (113,600 pieces). Exports of 535,200 pieces were 18 per cent above the previous week and 12 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 519,200 pieces were primarily for China (230,500 pieces) and South Korea (129,300 pieces).
Net sales of 158,800 wet blues were mainly for Italy (53,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (51,300 unsplit), China (17,100 unsplit and 1,000 grain split), and the Dominican Republic (14,400 grain split). Exports of 117,500 hides were 19 per cent above the previous week and equal to the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (27,600 unsplit and 2,400 grain split), Italy (22,100 unsplit), South Korea (14,900 unsplit), China (13,100 unsplit), and Thailand (8,900 unsplit and 1,800 grain split). Net sales of splits totalling 807,400 pounds were 40 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The major buyers were Hong Kong (485,400 pounds) and China (239,400 pounds). Exports of 757,400 pounds were 20 per cent below the week earlier and the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (279,400 pounds), China (217,400 pounds), and Italy (170,600 pounds).
