US export sales for week ending 13/04/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 402,100 pieces were down 35 per cent from the previous week and 30 per cent below the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 393,200 pieces were mainly for China (138,900 pieces), South Korea (104,300 pieces), and Taiwan (70,700 pieces). Exports of 486,800 pieces were 4 per cent above the previous week and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 480,400 pieces were primarily for China (235,100 pieces), South Korea (99,900 pieces), and Taiwan (52,900 pieces).
Net sales of 85,600 wet blues were 5 per cent below the previous week and 18 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Hong Kong (26,600 unsplit and 2,700 grain split), South Korea (19,300 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain split), and Italy (8,600 unsplit). Exports of 91,900 hides were 9 per cent under the previous week and 24 per cent less than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (22,500 unsplit and 2,200 grain split), the Dominican Republic (12,000 grain split), Taiwan (7,500 unsplit and 3,400 grain split), South Korea (10,500 unsplit), and China (9,700 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,366,900 pounds were 3 per cent under the previous week, but 37 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Increases for China (1,358,000 pounds) and Italy (45,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (36,100 pounds). Exports of 1,276,900 pounds were 3 per cent above the week earlier and 18 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (751,900 pounds), China (303,000 pounds), Indonesia (172,000 pounds), and Taiwan (50,000 pounds).
