US Export sales for week ending 16/03/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 452,100 pieces were down 25 per cent from the previous week and the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 434,900 pieces were mainly for China (257,200 pieces), South Korea (46,700 pieces), Mexico (42,300 pieces), and Taiwan (34,700 pieces). Exports of 487,100 pieces were 1 per cent above the previous week and 3 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 470,800 pieces were primarily for China (215,200 pieces), South Korea (101,100 pieces), and Taiwan (53,500 pieces).
Net sales of 90,700 wet blues were 33 per cent under the previous week and 30 per cent below the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were the Dominican Republic (17,200 grain split and 2,400 unsplit), Taiwan (13,700 unsplit and 5,400 grain split), Hong Kong (15,400 unsplit), Italy (14,700 unsplit), and China (13,400 unsplit). Exports of 116,800 hides were 15 per cent over the previous week and 17 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (25,100 unsplit and 700 grain split), Hong Kong (23,600 unsplit), Taiwan (15,500 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (9,500 grain split), and Italy (9,300 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totalling 1,518,700 pounds were 64 per cent above the previous week and two and one-third times the prior 4-week average. The buyers were Hong Kong (1,094,800 pounds), China (289,700 pounds), and Mexico (134,200 pounds). Exports of 831,700 pounds were 7 per cent below the previous week and 27 percent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (472,700 pounds) and Hong Kong (228,900 pounds).
