US Export sales for week ending 09/03/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 609,700 pieces were down 23 per cent from the previous week and 5 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 579,900 pieces were mainly for China (369,100 pieces), Taiwan (72,600 pieces), South Korea (70,100 pieces), and Mexico (32,200 pieces). Exports of 483,400 pieces were 7 per cent above the previous week and 5 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 474,900 pieces were primarily for China (247,100 pieces), South Korea (87,500 pieces), and Taiwan (64,200 pieces).
Net sales of 135,800 wet blues were 5 per cent over the previous week and 2 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (41,200 unsplit and 12,000 grain split), Hong Kong (18,600 unsplit and 7,200 grain split), Taiwan (10,000 unsplit and 1,400 grain split), South Korea (11,000 unsplit), and Italy (10,100 unsplit). Exports of 101,300 hides were 11 per cent over the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (19,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (17,200 unsplit and 4,200 grain split), Italy (14,300 unsplit), South Korea (12,700 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (8,000 grain split).
Net sales of splits totalling 925,000 pounds were 62 per cent above the previous week and 35 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The buyers were Italy (573,800 pounds), Hong Kong (179,100 pounds), and China (172,100 pounds). Exports of 890,000 pounds were 31 per cent below the previous week and 18 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (517,100 pounds), China (260,100 pounds), Italy (86,800 pounds), and Indonesia (26,000 pounds).
