US Export sales for week ending 02/03/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 796,000 pieces were up 61 per cent from the previous week and 53 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 766,200 pieces were mainly for China (416,400 pieces), Taiwan (135,000 pieces), South Korea (88,700 pieces), and Hong Kong (56,700 pieces). Exports of 453,200 pieces were 6 per cent below the previous week and 2 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 446,000 pieces were primarily for China (201,400 pieces), South Korea (127,400 pieces), and Taiwan (37,800 pieces).
Net sales of 129,400 wet blues were 14 per cent over the previous week and 17 per cent above the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Taiwan (69,200 unsplit), Hong Kong (24,300 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (13,500 grain split), Italy (11,300 unsplit), and South Korea (9,000 unsplit). Exports of 90,900 hides were 20 per cent under the previous week, but 1 per cent greater than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (20,700 unsplit and 2,000 grain split), Hong Kong (11,100 unsplit and 3,500 grain split), Mexico (6,200 unsplit and 5,500 grain split), Taiwan (11,100 unsplit), China (10,500 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (8,000 grain split).
Net sales of splits totalLing 570,800 pounds were 44 per cent below the previous week, but 6 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Major increases were reported for Hong Kong (534,800 pounds). Exports of 1,290,800 pounds were 14 per cent above the previous week and 41 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The destinations were China (654,700 pounds), Hong Kong (422,800 pounds), Indonesia (172,000 pounds), and Mexico (41,400 pounds).
