US Export sales for week ending 23/02/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 496,100 pieces were equal to the previous week, but 7 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 480,300 pieces were mainly for China (264,200 pieces), South Korea (72,200 pieces), Taiwan (34,800 pieces), Mexico (29,700 pieces), and Thailand (29,300 pieces). Exports of 484,400 pieces were 2 per cent above the previous week and 5 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 471,900 pieces were primarily for China (203,500 pieces), South Korea (113,000 pieces), Mexico (40,500 pieces), and Taiwan (39,200 pieces).
Net sales of 113,300 wet blues were 20 per cent under the previous week, but 16 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were Italy (47,400 unsplit), China (15,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (13,800 unsplit), South Korea (8,100 unsplit and 3,600 grain split), and Mexico (6,400 grain split and 5,100 unsplit). Exports of 113,100 hides were 19 per cent over the previous week and 25 per cent greater than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Italy (22,200 unsplit and 2,000 grain split), Hong Kong (12,900 unsplit and 9,000 grain split), China (13,000 unsplit and 4,700 grain split), Taiwan (14,900 unsplit), and Mexico (6,400 grain split and 5,600 unsplit).
Net sales of splits totaLling 1,025,300 pounds were much improved from the previous week and 62 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Hong Kong (671,900 pounds) and China (354,200 pounds). Exports of 1,132,300 pounds were 8 per cent below the previous week, but 20 per cent over the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (519,900 pounds), China (434,200 pounds), Italy (133,200 pounds), and Mexico (45,000 pounds).
