US Export sales for week ending 02/02/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 305,800 pieces were 44 per cent below the previous week. Whole cattle hide sales of 298,000 pieces were mainly for China (114,800 pieces), South Korea (79,200 pieces), and Taiwan (42,500 pieces). Exports of 458,500 pieces were 4 per cent below the previous week, but 7 per cent above the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 448,000 pieces were primarily for China (168,000 pieces), South Korea (131,200 pieces), and Taiwan (54,700 pieces).
Net sales of 40,300 wet blues were 34 per cent below the previous week. The primary buyers were Italy (13,100 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (10,200 grain split), and Mexico (6,600 grain split and 2,600 unsplit). Exports of 85,700 hides were 26 per cent under the previous week and 12 per cent less than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Hong Kong (28,900 unsplit), Mexico (7,300 unsplit and 5,300 grain split), the Dominican Republic (11,600 grain split), and Italy (7,200 unsplit and 4,000 grain split).
No significant activity was reported for splits. Exports of 624,500 pounds were 50 per cent below the previous week and 60 per cent under the prior 4-week average. The destinations were Hong Kong (181,400 pounds), China (170,000 pounds), Indonesia (133,000 pounds), Italy (90,000 pounds), and Taiwan (50,000 pounds).
