US Export sales for week ending 12/01/2006
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 700,400 pieces were much improved from the previous week. Whole cattle hide sales of 692,500 pieces were mainly for China (310,200 pieces), South Korea (241,800 pieces), and Hong Kong (39,600 pieces). Exports of 449,800 pieces were 10 per cent above the previous week and 20 per cent over the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 440,400 pieces were primarily for China (179,000 pieces), South Korea (136,200 pieces), and Taiwan (44,000 pieces).
Net sales reductions of splits totalling 294,800 pounds were mainly for Italy (270,000 pounds, including increases of 135,000 pounds offset by decreases of 405,000 pounds due to incorrect reporting). Exports of 1,157,400 pounds were 29 percent below the previous week, but 1 percent above the prior 4-week average. The main destinations were Hong Kong (755,500 pounds), Italy (225,000 pounds), and Indonesia (87,000 pounds).
