US Export sales for week ending 29/12/2005
Hides and Skins: Net sales reductions of 164,200 pieces were much below the previous week and the prior 4-week average. Decreases in whole cattle hides of 164,600 pieces were mainly for South Korea (50,700 pieces), China (40,300 pieces), Hong Kong (28,300 pieces), Mexico (24,800 pieces), and Taiwan (20,300 pieces). Net sales of 361,600 pieces for delivery in the 2006 marketing year (which began Jan.1) were mainly for South Korea (155,400 pieces), China (101,100 pieces), Hong Kong (71,000 pieces), and Taiwan (22,300 pieces). Exports of 297,800 pieces were down 15 per cent from the prior week and 32 per cent below the previous 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 290,600 pieces were primarily for China (123,700 pieces), South Korea (87,500 pieces), and Taiwan (36,200 pieces).
Net sales reductions of splits totalling 2,300 pounds were reported for Hong Kong (1,500 pounds) and China (900 pounds). Net sales of 1,354,000 pounds for delivery in 2006 were for Hong Kong (1,084,000 pounds), China (226,000 pounds), and the Dominican Republic (44,000 pounds). Exports of 354,700 pounds were 57 percent below the prior week and 63 percent under the previous 4-week average. The destinations were Italy (225,000 pounds), China (87,100 pounds), and Hong Kong (42,500 pounds).
