US Export sales for week ending 22/12/2005
Net sales of 188,600 pieces were 39 per cent above the previous week, but 26 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 184,700 pieces were mainly for China (141,600 pieces), Taiwan (20,000 pieces), and Hong Kong (19,700 pieces). Net sales of 282,100 pieces for delivery in 2006 (which begins Jan.1) were mainly for China (118,000 pieces), South Korea (100,100 pieces), and Mexico (28,200 pieces). Exports of 351,000 pieces were down 21 per cent from the prior week and 23 per cent below the previous 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 345,800 pieces were primarily for China (180,100 pieces), South Korea (63,200 pieces), and Taiwan (43,200 pieces).
Net sales of 4,600 wet blues were 19 per cent below the week earlier, but much above the prior 4-week average. The primary buyer was Hong Kong (3,900 unsplit). Net sales of 68,500 pieces for delivery in 2006 were mainly for Indonesia (16,000 unsplit), Italy (13,500 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (10,000 grain split). Exports of 52,800 hides were 14 per cent above the prior week, but 28 per cent under the previous 4-week average. The major destinations were Hong Kong (19,400 unsplit) and Taiwan (17,400 unsplit).
Net sales reductions of splits totalling 13,600 pounds were reported for Hong Kong (6,300 pounds), Italy (3,900 pounds), and China (3,500 pounds). Net sales of 1,277,000 pounds for delivery in 2006 were for China (1,056,000 pounds), Hong Kong (176,000 pounds), and South Korea (45,000 pounds). Exports of 821,200 pounds were 54 per cent below the prior week and 9 per cent under the previous 4-week average. The destinations were Italy (349,200 pounds), Hong Kong (258,900 pounds), and China (213,100 pounds).
