US Export sales for week ending 10/11/05
Hides and Skins:Net sales of 301,500 pieces were 43 per cent below the previous week and 36 per cent under the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales of 301,300 pieces were mainly for China (111,000 pieces) and South Korea (107,300 pieces). Exports of 421,400 pieces were 10 per cent below the prior week and 8 per cent less than the previous 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 418,700 pieces were primarily for China (191,400 pieces), South Korea (84,300 pieces), Taiwan (41,700 pieces), Mexico (30,400 pieces), and Hong Kong (24,000 pieces).
Net sales of splits totalling 3,537,300 pounds were much improved from the week earlier and the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (2,190,000 pounds), Hong Kong (1,130,800 pounds), and Italy (223,500 pounds). Exports of 908,700 pounds were two and one-half times the week earlier, but 14 percent under the previous 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (360,000 pounds), Hong Kong (345,800 pounds), and Mexico (117,900 pounds).
